The
ultimate purpose of Wood Badge
is to
help adult leaders deliver the highest quality Scouting program to
young people to help them achieve their highest potential. It models
the best techniques for developing leadership and teamwork among both
young people and adults.
Wood Badge helps improve your leadership of
small groups, and your understanding of how teams develop. The heart of
Wood Badge is small group leadership. It also is very strong on
learning how the programs in all Boy Scouting programs work, and how
they work together. It is great fun too! This training is not only
useful for Scouting. It also helps people at work, in family life,
church and other groups.
How much time will it take?
Wood
Badge consists of two phases - practical and application.
The
practical phase is the course and is held over two 3 day sessions.
The
application phase, better known as "working your ticket" is the
individual persons application of the skills learned during the course.
